Getting Started
Install CS:GO, add GRMod, and launch with the right files in place.
Getting started is a lot easier now than it used to be. This guide covers the shortest path from a fresh install to a playable setup.
Requirements
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
- GRMod
1. Install Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
First, download CS:GO from the Steam store page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4465480/CounterStrikeGlobal_Offensive/
2. Download GRMod
After that, download the latest GRMod release:
https://github.com/Skysion3/GRMod/releases
Use the latest release. The releases page includes a Full ZIP for new installs and a Patch ZIP if you are updating an existing GRMod install.
3. Install GRMod
Open your CS:GO install folder, then extract the downloaded GRMod archive directly into that directory.
- Use
GRMod_*_Full.zipif this is your first install. - Use
GRMod_*_Patch.ziponly if you are upgrading an existing GRMod setup. - Replace existing files when Windows asks.
Default Windows path:
GRMod bundles the Game Coordinator replacement and its UI changes together, so you do not need a separate csgo_gc download first.
4. Done!
That is the whole setup.
If something goes wrong, make sure you launch the game through Steam instead of opening it directly from the folder.
