Shutting down my parts of Global Retake

I'm taking the services I personally operate for Global Retake offline. This announcement explains what is affected, why I am doing it, and how to get any assets or data you need before the shutdown.

What is affected

  • The servers I host
  • The leaderboard I run
  • The website pages I maintain
  • The GRMod installer I publish
  • The GitHub organisation and repos under my control

Why I'm doing this

There are ongoing moderation and governance issues in the project that I find harmful and inconsistent with the standards I want to support. I have experienced and witnessed actions that felt abusive, inconsistent, and driven by personal bias. After raising these concerns and not seeing a satisfactory response, I'm withdrawing the parts of the project I control.

Timeline

This shutdown will take effect on May 15, 2026 at 12:00 (Budapest summer time / CEST). I may post updates here if the timing changes or if I allow additional time for retrieval.

Data, downloads, and retrieval

If you need personal data, downloads, or other assets I host, contact me directly as soon as possible. I will process legitimate requests on a short timeline before the services go offline.

Systems and source

I will not be releasing the internal logic behind the leaderboard, ban system, or anticheat. Those systems remain proprietary to the parts of the project I operate.
